How to close or delete an analysis

In this article, we will discuss how you can close and delete an analysis within the Roseman Labs environment.

Firstly, it is important to understand the difference between Closing and Deleting an analysis, as they result in slightly different outcomes and require different permissions.

Taking either of these actions will also prevent other selected analysts from executing the analysis.

Understanding the difference

  • Closing an analysis: The analysis remains in the overview but can no longer be executed.

    • Who can do this: The owning Analyst (the user who created the analysis), the Approvers, and the Admin.

  • Deleting an analysis: This automatically closes the analysis and permanently removes it from the overview.

    • Who can do this: The Admin and the owning Analyst .

Closing an analysis

You can close an analysis to prevent further execution while keeping the record in your overview.

  1. Log in to your account and go to the 'Analysis' page using the navigation bar.

  2. Click on the 'View' button (eye icon) for the analysis you wish to close.

  3. Scroll to the Close analysis section. This is located just above the analysis script or the no-code template card (depending on the type of analysis).

  4. Click the 'Close analysis' button.

You can check the current status by looking at the badge next to the analysis name on the detail page, or by status column on the analysis overview page.

Deleting an analysis

Deleting an analysis will close it and remove it entirely from the overview. It will only be present in the audit log.

  1. Log in to your account and go to the 'Analysis' page using the navigation bar.

  2. Click on the 'View' button (eye icon) for the analysis you wish to delete.

  3. Locate the Delete analysis section at the bottom of the page.

  4. Click 'Delete analysis'.

The analysis will now be closed and removed from the overview.
