How to add users to a group

In this article, we will discuss how to add users to a group in the Roseman Labs platform. There are several ways to do this depending on how many users you wish to add.

Adding users to groups in the Roseman Labs platform allows you to efficiently manage your data requests and surveys by ensuring the right users are part of the right groups.

Let's show you how to add users to a group in the Roseman Labs platform:

Option 1: Adding Users via the Groups Page


You can add a larger number of users to a group directly from the Groups page:

Step 1: Go to the settings by clicking on the settings icon located in the top navigation bar on the right. In the sidebar menu that appears, select "Groups".



Step 2: Find the group you want to edit and click the button to view that group.



Step 3: You will see a list of current members. Above the members table, click the "Edit Members" button located at the top right of the table.



Step 4: The "Edit Members" page will open, allowing you to add new members or remove existing ones. Current members will be shown as selected. You can deselect members you want to remove and select users you want to add. You can also use the search function on this page to find specific users.



Step 5: Once you've made your changes, click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom to finalize the updates.

Option 2: Adding Users via User Management


To add a single user or a small number of users to an existing group:

Step 1: Go to the settings by clicking on the settings icon located in the top navigation bar on the right. In the sidebar menu, select "User Management".



Step 2: On the User Management page, click the "Edit" button on the individual user you want to add to a group.



Step 3: A pop up will appear where you can assign user roles. Locate the "Assign groups" dropdown.



Step 4: Select the group(s) from the dropdown menu that you want to add the user to.



Step 5: Save the changes to ensure the user is added to the selected group(s).


Your users are now successfully added to the group and can be used in data requests and surveys. 

Groups can also be assigned when inviting new users to the platform (individually, by bulk invite or via a .CSV file). When sending an invite, you will have the option to assign the user to a group directly.
